AMC sacks 13 AMTS, BRTS drivers over misconduct, traffic violations
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation ( AMC ) dismissed 13 drivers of its AMTS and BRTS public transport services after surprise inspections found them guilty of traffic violations, misconduct with passengers and unsafe driving practices.
The action follows complaints from commuters alleging that some drivers were misbehaving with passengers , skipping designated bus stops and, in certain cases, driving negligently, leading to accidents . There were also allegations that a few drivers were operating buses under the influence of alcohol.
