Andhra Pradesh to Lead India’s 10,900 e-Bus Drive Under PM e-Bus Sewa Programme

The Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), under the Ministry of Power, has floated India’s largest-ever tender for 10,900 electric buses. Andhra Pradesh Takes the Wheel
Among all Indian states, Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a frontrunner in the e-mobility revolution. CESL has identified five key cities, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Nellore, and Tirupati, for the first phase of deployment. These cities will soon see electric buses on their streets, transforming public transport into a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient system. Officials said CESL is developing a dedicated action plan to ensure timely implementation. According to EESL National Advisor A Chandra Sekhara Reddy, the pre-bid stage of the tender witnessed tremendous interest from leading domestic and international manufacturers. Following multiple rounds of clarifications and technical discussions, CESL extended the bid submission deadline to November 2025, with bids to be opened on November 6, 2025. This enthusiastic participation underscores global confidence in India’s e-mobility policies and investment potential.
