Bank officials misleading farmers over loan waivers will face action, warns Bharne
Pune: Maharashtra agriculture minister Dattatray Bharne said on Wednesday that the state govt will take strict action against bank officials found misleading farmers over the farm loan waiver scheme.
“If any bank official tries to mislead farmers over the loan amount, the govt will intervene and take action,” Bharne said.
The warning comes amid several complaints from growers regarding discrepancies between the waiver amounts listed by the govt and the actual outstanding balances shown by banks.
