Beauty product recalled from stores as it failed to meet safety requirements - do not use

A nation-wide recall has been made concerning a beauty product that failed to meet the required safety standards to be sold to customers. The product created by brand Hello Sunday has been pulled from shelves after it failed testing regarding its SPF content.Customers and users have been urged not to use the eye cream as it may not provide "adequate protection" and could increase the risk of sun-related skin damage. The Office for Product Safety and Standards' hazard report explained: "The product has failed SPF testing with variable results. The product may not provide adequate protection and could increase the risk of sun-related skin damage and sunburn."The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (The Cosmetics Regulation)."The product affected by the recall is:Hello Sunday - The One for Your Eyes Eye Cream SPF 50The eye cream can be identified by its mint green packaging with pink labelling. The product's country of origin has been noted as Spain.The Office for Product Safety and Standards noted that all batches of the product are affected. This is why in light of recent multiple recalls across the industry resulting from recent testing discrepancies, we made the proactive decision to retest our product range to ensure full confidence in the protection our products provide."Initial testing for The One For Your Eyes - eye cream SPF 50 confirmed that the product met the labelled SPF 50 UVB protection, but recent test results showed that it failed to meet the level of SPF stated on the product label."While we have not received reports of any incidents related to this issue, and we have not been notified by the relevant regulatory authorities of any reported incidents either, we are proactively and voluntarily recalling The One For Your Eyes- eye cream SPF 50 effective immediately, out of an abundance of caution to ensure full consumer safety as well as product compliance and efficacy, given that the level of protection may not be that stated on the product label."We ask our customers to please immediately stop using The One For Your Eyes-eye cream SPF 50.
