Bengaluru: Five arrested for gunpoint jewelry shop robbery

Bengaluru: The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested five individuals from Rajasthan who allegedly entered a jewelry shop posing as customers and robbed it at gunpoint.

The arrested suspects, all natives of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, are Ankitnath (30), Anoop Singh (30), Ravi Dav (28), Anop Rao (23), and Arun (31). Police seized 9 grams of gold jewelry valued at ₹2.5 lakh, one pistol, two live rounds, three magazines, four mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the group.

The robbery occurred on January 27 at a jewelry shop in Dasanapura village. The gang threatened the staff with a pistol before fleeing with gold earrings, nose rings, and ₹50,000 in cash.

Following the complaint, the police initially tracked down and arrested Ankitnath and Anoop Singh within the city. Based on information provided during their interrogation, a team led by Inspector Muralidhar traveled to Rajasthan to apprehend the remaining three accomplices.
