Bengaluru School Under Fire for Locking Students in Dark Room Over Fee Disputes

The Education Department has taken a firm stance against the alleged incidents, warning schools to refrain from harassing students over unpaid fees. Officials emphasized the potential harm such actions can have on students' mental health and academic progress.
“Parents are urged to report such incidents to the local police, and thorough investigations will be carried out,” a spokesperson said. The department also assured that if the allegations are verified, offending schools will face severe consequences, including being blacklisted and having their licenses revoked.
As per a report by Asianet News, six students were allegedly confined to a dark room for an entire day without light or access to basic facilities in the last two weeks alone.

When contacted for comments, Orchid International School on Mysore Road denied the allegations, labeling them baseless. The school assured it would facilitate communication with another branch to clarify matters but has not provided any further responses as of now.
