Birthday trip, booze till 3am, dead by morning: Mystery deepens over Gurgaon techie's death at Mussoorie homestay
VISAKHAPATNAM/MUSSOORIE: A birthday getaway to the hills turned tragic when a 27-year-old IT professional from Gurugram was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a homestay near Mussoorie, hours after she and her husband allegedly consumed alcohol and went to sleep.
P Radha Gayatri, originally from Visakhapatnam and employed with a technology firm in Gurgaon, was found dead on Monday morning at a homestay on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road.

She had checked into the property late Sunday night with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, an IT professional based in Pune. The couple, who married on November 8, 2025, had travelled to Uttarakhand to celebrate Sricharan's birthday.
According to police, the couple had first travelled to Rishikesh on June 13 before reaching the homestay around 11.30 pm on Sunday.
Sricharan told investigators that they consumed alcohol and went to sleep at around 3.30 am. When he woke up later in the morning, he allegedly found Gayatri unresponsive on the floor, with blood oozing from her nose.
Police rushed to the homestay after receiving information about an unconscious woman. A medical team examined Gayatri and declared her dead at the scene.
Investigators said the body was found lying naked on the floor, while bloodstains were noticed on the bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles and food items were also recovered from the room.
However, the preliminary post-mortem examination conducted at Dehradun's Coronation Hospital found no external injury marks on the body.
Circle Officer Jagdish Chandra Pant said the woman's viscera has been preserved for forensic analysis and the exact cause of death will be known only after detailed laboratory reports are received.
