Radar imagery shows dense rain bands over the region, with IMD predicting thunderstorms and lightning alongside heavy rainfall in the next few hours.
From Yellow to Red: IMD’s Weather Warning
Initially, there was no major alert for Thursday, but the IMD revised its forecast late on Wednesday, shifting from a yellow alert to a red warning for Delhi. Ghaziabad remains under a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning, while Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad are expected to witness cloudy skies with light rain spells during the day.

The wet weather is likely to persist through the week, with light to moderate showers predicted until August 17. On August 15, Delhi is expected to see cloudy skies and brief spells of rain, while Gurugram and Faridabad face a yellow alert for possible heavy showers and thunderstorms. August 16 could bring more light rainfall across the region, followed by drizzles between August 17 and 19.
