DMK MLA and ex-Tamil Nadu minister Anitha Radhakrishnan arrested over 'defamatory' remarks against TN CM Vijay
CHENNAI: DMK leader, former Tamil Nadu minister and MLA Anitha R. Radhakrishnan was arrested by police on Friday after the Madras High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea earlier in the day.
The case stems from alleged inflammatory remarks made by Radhakrishnan against TVK president and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during a public meeting at Athur near Tiruchendur.

The event was held to mark the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
Police arrested Radhakrishnan following the high court's order cancelling his plea for anticipatory bail. Further investigation into the case is underway.
