Blood Money and Bureaucracy: Seven Arrested as Jaipur Police Unravel Daughter’s Deadly Plot Over Compassionate Employment
According to senior police investigators, the young woman, identified as Ayushi Sharma , conspired closely with her paternal uncle and cousin to hire a network of contract killers . The group was paid a staggering sum of Rs 7 lakh to stage a high-speed vehicle collision, deliberately terminating the life of 45-year-old Neeraj Sharma in the city's bustling Pratap Nagar locality.
The genesis of this horrific family feud traces back approximately one year, following the untimely demise of Ayushi’s father, Vijay Kumar Sharma, who had been serving as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) within the local judiciary.
Under regional administrative rules, his sudden passing opened up an opportunity for a compassionate appointment—a system designed to provide immediate employment to a surviving dependent of a deceased civil servant. While Ayushi aggressively coveted the stable government post for herself, it was her mother, Neeraj, who ultimately stepped into the professional role to support the household, which included a differently-abled son.
This decision sparked intense animosity within the household, triggering a bitter, multi-year property and financial dispute that ultimately pushed the daughter down a dark path of violent premeditation.
The execution of the deadly plot unfolded on the afternoon of Wednesday, 3 July, 2026, as Neeraj was returning home on foot after dropping her vulnerable son off at a local coaching institute. As she walked near Ravindra Nagar, a speeding Mahindra Scorpio SUV travelling at an estimated 130 kilometres per hour violently rammed into her from behind.

The sheer physics of the impact propelled the victim nearly 100 feet through the air, causing catastrophic injuries that resulted in her instantaneous death at the scene. The assailants immediately abandoned the heavily damaged SUV and fled the area on a pre-arranged motorcycle, leaving local bystanders to assume they had witnessed a reckless hit-and-run accident.
However, the facade of an accidental death quickly unravelled when the victim’s brother, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, approached the authorities with deep suspicions of foul play. He revealed to investigators that Neeraj had frequently complained of systematic harassment and explicit death threats originating from her daughter, her brother-in-law Mohan Swaroop, and her nephew Balram.
Acting on this crucial tip, Jaipur Police launched a comprehensive forensic inquiry, scrutinising local closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. The digital evidence painted a damning picture: the SUV had been systematically stalking Neeraj’s movements, coordinated by spotters who relayed her live location via mobile phones. Furthermore, it was discovered that the conspirators had initially rented a Mahindra Thar SUV weeks prior for a failed assassination attempt before switching to the Scorpio.
Led by Jaipur's Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjita Sharma, a swift law enforcement crackdown resulted in the apprehension of seven individuals implicated in the conspiracy. Alongside Ayushi, the police arrested her 56-year-old uncle Mohan Swaroop, the primary contract killer Hemant Sharma, and four distinct accomplices who facilitated the tracking, driving, and logistics of the hit. During intense interrogation sessions, Ayushi reportedly confessed to her role, bitterly claiming that her mother had ruined her future prospects by withholding the government job.
While seven suspects languish behind bars facing stringent murder charges, a massive manhunt remains underway to capture her cousin, Balram, who is currently absconding and regarded as a pivotal architect of the fatal plot.
