Fire breaks out in chemical plant near Karaikal
Trichy: More than 10 villagers who inhaled smoke fell ill after fire broke out in a chemical factory in North Vanchur near Karaikal on Friday. According to reports, stored chemical suddenly caught fire, and the blaze spread quickly. Factory workers were immediately evacuated to safety. Fire and rescue service personnel brought the fire under control within two hours.

With thick black smoke from the burning chemicals spreading to surrounding residential areas, more than 10 villagers complained of vomiting, dizziness, and other health issues. Hundreds of people were shifted to safer locations as a precaution while the most severely affected were rushed to Karaikal GH.
