First phase of Census concludes in Himachal

Shimla: The first phase of the Census, covering house listing and housing census , concluded across Himachal Pradesh on July 15, marking the completion of a month-long exercise that began on June 16. The directorate of census operations highlighted that the first phase witnessed extensive use of digital technology, ensuring faster, efficient and accurate data collection. A key achievement was the successful implementation of the self-enumeration facility , which enabled citizens to use the digital platform to provide their details and actively participate in the national exercise. The directorate credited the success of the operation to the coordinated efforts of district administrations, including deputy commissioners, municipal commissioners, tehsildars, census officials, trainers, enumerators and supervisors.
