Pilibhit: The Bahraich forest department has launched a safety campaign across 29 gram panchayats after a 12-year-old boy was killed by a crocodile in the Ghaghra river, aiming to keep villagers away from the river and prevent crocodiles from entering agricultural fields.

The campaign, which began on Saturday, includes announcements through vehicles, posters with safety advisories in villages and marketplaces, and nets at identified vulnerable spots along the riverbanks.
