Giriraj confident NDA will perform better than 2010
Patna: A day after he cautioned BJP against complacency and "feel-good" behaviour, Union minister Giriraj Singh took a U-turn on Wednesday and said NDA will perform better than 2010 assembly polls when they won 206 out of 243 seats in Bihar.
"This time in Bihar, we will break all the records. In 2010, JD(U) and BJP together won 206 seats. In 2025, we will win 225 seats. People will not vote for the Grand Alliance. They have neither leader, nor vision, intent or agenda," Giriraj said while accompanying deputy CM Vijay Kumar Singh, who filed his nomination papers from Lakhisarai for the sixth time on Wednesday.
Attacking the RJD and its president Lalu Prasad , Giriraj said, "During Lalu Ji's rule, there were no proper roads, no electricity, and potholes were everywhere. Today, roads are shining under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish. Earlier, hospitals had dogs sleeping on the beds. Now medicines are available for free. If we start giving an account of things, perhaps their faces will turn red."
Responding to Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor's statement that a tally of less than 150 seats will be considered a defeat, the Begusarai MP said: "Mungerilal ke haseen sapne ko dekhne me kya mana hai. He is from RJD's B team."
Commenting on PK's decision not to contest the assembly election himself, Giriraj said PK knows he will not win.
