Gujarat struggles to secure justice in atrocity cases

Gandhinagar : Gujarat ’s conviction rate in cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 remains significantly below the national average, according to data placed in Parliament, reviving concerns over the effectiveness of investigations and implementation of safeguards meant to protect vulnerable communities.
