Gunfight breaks out in J&K's Rajouri during search operations
JAMMU: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on Saturday during a cordon and search operation launched in Dorimal-Ghambir Mughla area of J&K ’s Rajouri district following reports of suspected movement, officials said.
The operation, named ‘Op Sheruwali’, was on till report last came in, and reinforcements had been sent, officials said.

Officials said a joint team of Army, J&K Police and CRPF launched extensive searches in the general area of Gambhir Mughla after specific intelligence inputs were received about the presence of two to three suspected terrorists in the area.
During the operation, a contact was established with the hiding terrorists around 11.30 am, the Army’s White Knight Corps said on X. “Troops responded swiftly with calibrated action,” an Army spokesperson said.
Earlier, a joint search by the Army and police was launched Friday night in Balle-Bagh village in Jammu’s Akhnoor sector, following reports of suspicious individuals being sighted. However, no suspect had been traced till Saturday afternoon.
