HC seeks interim report on paid menstrual leave policy

Madurai : Madras high court on Tuesday directed the state to file an interim report on formation of a committee and progress in framing the rules with regard to a comprehensive paid menstrual leave policy for women employees in government services and also suitable advisory guidelines for those working in private establishments.

A division bench of Justice C V Karthikeyan and Justice R Sakthivel sought the interim report after taking into account submissions of the state that the government was actively considering the formation of the committee and to frame rules in accordance with the labour code introduced by the Centre.
