In an incredible act of bravery, a pit bull named Jenny saved the lives of several children by taking down a venomous King Cobra in Jhansi’s Shiv Ganesh colony. The incident unfolded on Monday, September 23, while the children of a household worker were playing in the garden. Jenny, who was tied at the far end of the garden, sprang into action when the children screamed for help after spotting the deadly snake.
Despite being leashed, Jenny broke free and immediately charged at the cobra. In a gripping video of the incident, Jenny is seen fiercely shaking the snake, determined to neutralize the threat. After a tense five-minute battle, the cobra finally succumbed to its injuries.
Jenny’s owner, Punjab Singh, shared that this wasn’t her first encounter with a snake. He told NDTV, "This wasn’t the first snake we’ve encountered, because our house is near the fields, and several snakes have been spotted during the rainy season. So far, Jenny has killed around 8 to 10 snakes."
“People often say negative things about pit bulls, but mine has never harmed anyone. She saved lives and earned our gratitude,” Punjab Singh said, countering the negative perceptions of the breed.
Singh also recalled how a bull once saved his brother’s life and mentioned their pet mongoose, which keeps the house rodent-free. Jenny’s courageous act has left the family deeply grateful, showing that her loyalty and bravery make her a true hero.
