Hyderabad doctors raise red flag over 'instant glow' creams

HYDERABAD: A growing number of patients are reporting skin damage linked to fairness creams purchased online and over-the-counter (OTC), raising concerns over the presence of harmful ingredients such as mercury, lead and undeclared steroids.

The concern has intensified after regulatory authorities flagged certain fairness creams for containing toxic levels of heavy metals.
