Hyderabad's Nizam Club sees change of guard after 18 years; poll outcome reflects desire for change
HYDERABAD: After elections to the Nizam Club managing committee were stalled for months, the club finally went to polls on July 5, with members electing a new set of office-bearers and managing committee members in what club representatives described as a high-turnout election.
According to the results declared by returning officer Zafar Javeed, Ashfaq Ahmed KM was elected vicepresident, securing 1,233 votes, defeating Asha Latha K, who polled 1,192 votes.

For the post of honorary secretary, B Muthyam Reddy won with 1,333 votes, while M Amarender Reddy secured 1,088 votes.
For the managing committee, the elected members included Syed Aamer Javeed, who emerged as the top vote-getter with 1,411 votes, followed by Rishiraj Singh Rathore with 1,189 votes and P Shailaja Reddy who secured 1,050 votes. The young panel has come been elected defeating previous members after 18 years.
