Jordan Henderson releases 45-word statement from hospital bed as England ace supported
England star Jordan Henderson has given fans an update on his recovery following surgery on his broken wrist on Wednesday. The 36-year-old broke his silence on social media for the first time since going under the knife, after sustaining a freak injury at the World Cup.
Henderson has since rejoined England's squad in Kansas City following the successful procedure on his broken wrist. The Brentford stalwart confirmed the operation went smoothly and expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff following his unfortunate injury after the victory in Mexico City.
Henderson posted on Instagram: "Surgery done! Let's get ready for the big one on Saturday. Thank you to all the staff that looked after me at Kansas City orthopaedic institute. Especially the three surgeons who carried out the operation. Dr Kenneth P. Unruh, Dr Mark J Winston, Dr Kirk McCullough."
England colleagues Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers were swift to rally behind their injured team-mate, posting heart emojis in the comments section. His club Brentford also offered their well-wishes, writing: "Speedy recovery Jordan!".
The experienced Henderson has now made his way to Kansas City to lend his support to the group ahead of their quarter-final showdown with Norway on Saturday. His presence will undoubtedly provide a significant lift to the squad, given his status as one of its most well-liked figures.
