Karnataka doctor falls 400 feet to death at Amboli tourist spot
Kolhapur: A 45-year-old doctor from Karnataka died after falling into a deep gorge at Mahadevgad Point in Amboli while visiting the hill station with friends and colleagues on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Dr Ayub Syed, a resident of Jatrat village in Nipani taluka of Belagavi district.
According to police, Syed had travelled to Amboli with nine colleagues. Around 5.30pm, while the group was at Mahadevgad Point, he reportedly crossed the safety railing and lost his balance, plunging nearly 400 feet into the gorge. A local corn vendor witnessed the fall and alerted his companions.
