Karnataka Examinations Authority to consider CBSE revaluation marks

Newspoint
Bengaluru: Karnataka Examinations Authority will now consider the revaluation marks of Class 12 students under the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) for calculating the ranks of the Common Entrance Test.

TOI reported Tuesday how several students raised requests with KEA for the same. CET ranks are calculated by considering Class 12 results and CET scores in a 50-50 ratio.

There was a row over CBSE results after students alleged that the on-screen marking resulted in various discrepancies in the marks awarded. After the papers were sent for revaluation, many of them received better marks.

KEA released CET results on June 7 with the results from the original CBSE mark sheet. KEA, however, maintained it does not have the practice of considering revaluation marks for CET ranks. This is set to change now. KEA, in its latest notification, has asked students to submit a copy of their updated marks card at KEA office in Bengaluru between July 4 and 6. KEA will verify the revised marks through the DigiLocker account and then update their rank. KEA office will also accept submissions even on Sunday (July 5), said the notification. This is applicable to both CBSE and ISC students.
