Kudremukh DFO Sivaram Babu appointed Managing Director of Jungle Lodges and Resorts

Karkala: The Karnataka government has appointed Sivaram Babu, Deputy Conservator of Forests (DFO) of the Kudremukh Wildlife Division, as the Managing Director (MD) of Jungle Lodges and Resorts.

An Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Sivaram Babu has served as the DFO of the Kudremukh Wildlife Division for the past several years and has been recognised for his conservation efforts.

During his tenure, he played a key role in curbing poaching, removing forest encroachments and cracking down on various illegal activities across the Kudremukh, Someshwara and Mookambika Wildlife Divisions under his jurisdiction.

He also introduced a dedicated strategy to control forest fires and implemented model trekking management initiatives involving local communities. His focus on forest conservation and eco-friendly tourism earned widespread appreciation.

Following Sivaram Babu's transfer, the Karnataka government is yet to appoint a new DFO for the Kudremukh Wildlife Division.
