Lady Louise Windsor and King Charles's "hot equerry" were pictured displaying their surprising friendship earlier this month. It was recently reported that the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's only daughter had been working behind the scenes at the Royal Windsor Horse Show for the past few years whilst studying at university in Scotland.

Not only has Lady Louise, who is set to graduate this summer, impressed fans with her decision to work part-time alongside her studies, but they were also surprised by one of her newfound friendships. The 22-year-old was pictured with Lieutenant Colonel Jonny Thompson, also known as the Royal Family's "hot equerry", last week.

They were present to watch the display, which included 'Azerbaijan - Land of Fire', the 'DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games' and the 'Musical Drive of The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.'

The unexpected duo were pictured laughing as they watched the display.

Lady Louise was also pictured wearing a hand-me-down from the Princess of Wales - her white fairisle jumper which she previously wore when she appeared on CBeebies.

Back in 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Jonny transitioned from being the late Queen Elizabeth II's bodyguard to the King Charles' right-hand man.

A source told HELLO! that Lady Louise previously requested a job in the offices during her university summer holidays and was described as being "very polite and helpful".

The insider added: "Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward provided Lady Louise and her brother James with as normal an upbringing as possible, and this is clearly reflected in her work ethic.

"She is very grounded and down-to-earth, you wouldn't know she was a royal.

"It was her idea to ask for a part-time job. She's very hard-working."
