Maha Leads The Day When India Installs Record 15k Solar Systems

Nagpur: Maharashtra topped national performance under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme , contributing 4,700 of the record 15,000 rooftop solar systems installed across India on May 29 — about 31.3% of the total — the highest among all states.

MSEDCL, which is implementing the scheme in the state, said the scheme is aimed to help households reduce their electricity bills through rooftop solar generation and credited the scheme's momentum in the state to guidance from CM Devendra Fadnavis .
