A widespread huge rain system is coming to sweep large swathes of the nation as the unsettled weather conditions continue. Met Office weather maps show that 38 counties across the country will receive a soaking tomorrow, June 10, with the rain showing no mercy.

The forecaster is warning that an unsettled regime will persist across the UK for much of the week. Showers are expected to be frequent with "a chance of hail and thunder in places". The wet and miserable weather means temperatures will remain below average overall. Met Office weather maps indicate that rain will spread across much of the country from tomorrow morning onwards.

At 9am, most of the rain will be concentrated in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, whilst Humberside and the East Midlands will also see a large amount of rainfall.

Mid Wales, Devon and Cornwall will also see scattered showers, as will the Scottish Highlands.

By 2.15pm, the rain will have moved to cover almost the entirety of the UK. The heaviest rain on this radar appears to be in parts of central England, where up to 16mm of rain could fall.

Elsewhere, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire could see around 8mm of rain, whilst South Wales will be drenched in 4mm worth of rain. Radar images show that yellow and orange echoes of rain are also likely to fall in some areas of Scotland.

The massive band of rain will have moved to cover Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex.
