Multiple Schools in Delhi-NCR Receive Bomb Threat; Search in Progres
Early Wednesday morning, a series of bomb threats disrupted peace across Delhi-NCR, impacting 12 schools. These threats, conveyed via email, prompted immediate evacuations of students and staff, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
The origin of the emails, as traced by authorities, points to a foreign IP address. Delhi police express concerns about the potential use of a VPN to mask the true source of the threat. The count of affected schools escalated from an initial eight to twelve, as more educational institutions reported receiving similar threats.
Delhi Public School in Noida was among the prominent schools targeted. Following the threat, local law enforcement, including the bomb squad and canine units, were deployed to ensure a comprehensive search of the premises.
Authorities are taking these threats seriously, with dog squads and police forces diligently inspecting school facilities. A spokesperson for the Delhi Police provided insights into the investigation's findings: "During the initial investigation, it seems that since yesterday till now the mail has been sent to many places and it seems to be on the same pattern. Date line is not mentioned and BCC is mentioned in the mail, which means one mail has been sent to many places. At present an investigation is being done."
