MUMBAI: Mumbai Police on Monday clarified that they have stopped issuing notices to protesters named in FIRs related to last week’s demonstrations by the Cockroach Janta Party ( CJP ) from July 26 onwards, and that all notices served were issued before that date.

The clarification came after lawyers representing several students and protesters claimed that police were continuing the investigation by issuing notices and recording statements despite the Maharashtra government ’s assurance that cases against peaceful protesters would be withdrawn.
