According to a preliminary investigation, Megharaj, along with three friends, visited 1522 Pub on Thursday night.

The group partied at the venue, where Megharaj reportedly consumed beer and later had dinner.

Around 12am, the pub stopped serving, and the group paid the bill. While leaving around 12.45am, Megharaj reportedly felt nauseous, informed his friends, and rushed to the washroom.

Possibly due to confusion or because the gents’ washroom was occupied, Megharaj entered the ladies’ washroom and latched the door from inside.

His friends, who had stepped out of the pub, waited for him for some time before returning to look for him.

When they couldn’t find him on the pub floor, they alerted the management. Upon checking the CCTV footage, the staff found that Megharaj had entered the ladies’ washroom.

The door was broken open, and he was found unconscious inside.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) S Girish said the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team visited the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and viscera samples have been collected for forensic analysis. “The FSL report will reveal the exact cause of death,” he said.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at Rajarajeshwarinagar police station based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Vinay. The investigation is underway.
