Police informer's murder: Boyfriend nabbed in 24 hrs
Nagpur: Kanhan police arrested 31-year-old Monu Manpiya, boyfriend of murdered police informer Ashi De alias Ashwini, for allegedly pushing her off the Kanhan bridge, cracking the case within 24 hours.
The case came to light when a railway trackman heard a scream and saw a woman fall from the approximately 50-foot-old bridge over the Kanhan river around 2am on Monday. He also spotted a man on a scooter fleeing the scene. Based on his complaint, police registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
