There's good news and bad news for PS Plus subscribers as we head into the month of July 2026. The bad news is that because of the way the dates fall, fans face a longer wait to play the next wave of PlayStation Plus games, which are still a few weeks away from being released.

The good news, on the other hand, is that it gives you additional time to redeem the current line-up of PlayStation Plus Essentials, which are made up of three hidden gem PS5 games, including Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

When will the PS Plus games be announced for July 2026

Fans hoping for an imminent PS Plus Essentials reveal will be disappointed to hear that the next batch of free PS5 games won't be announced until the beginning of next month.

Unless Sony holds another State of Play event or simply decides to do things differently - and the release dates for the latest PS Plus Extra line-up suggests they might - the next wave of PS Plus Essentials will be revealed at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of July 1.

The delay is because the games launch on the first Tuesday of the month, which in this case is on July 7.

This means we've got two more weeks before we can download and play the next wave of PS Plus Essentials.

What are the current PS Plus games for June 2026

With the next wave of PS Plus Essentials still a couple of weeks away from launch, subscribers can grab the current batch of titles for the month of June.

The headline game is the superb survival game Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, which tasks players with surviving the dangers of the back garden after being reduced in size.
