Punjab releases Rs 28cr under Ashirwad scheme, aids 5,492 SC beneficiaries

Chandigarh: Punjab govt has released Rs 28 crore under the Ashirwad Scheme in 2026-27, providing relief to 5,492 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries across 19 districts, social justice, empowerment and minorities minister Dr Baljit Kaur said on Sunday.

She said the financial assistance would help economically weaker families solemnise their daughters' marriages with dignity and confidence.
