Rain likely in Coastal Karnataka for next five days

Udupi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast good rainfall across Coastal Karnataka, including the undivided Dakshina Kannada region, over the next few days.

According to the forecast, several places along the coast are likely to receive moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on May 27. Rain is expected only in a few places on May 28, while both districts may witness thundershowers again on May 29.

The region has been receiving continuous moderate rainfall over the past few days, easing the summer water shortage in many areas.

Advisory for fishermen

The department has advised fishermen to remain cautious as strong winds are expected along with rain, thunder and lightning. Fishermen have been directed to strictly follow weather forecasts and safety advisories issued by the department.

Cloudy and sunny weather along coast

Cloudy and sunny conditions prevailed across the coastal belt on Monday. Dakshina Kannada district experienced sunny weather in areas including Mangaluru, Puttur, Ullal, Bantwal and Sullia. Humid conditions were reported from the morning hours.

Some parts of Sullia and Belthangady witnessed a mix of cloudy and sunny weather. Similar weather conditions were also recorded in Udupi district.

Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 24.1 degrees Celsius on Monday.
