Rohtas CO, clerk held for taking bribes
Sasaram: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB), Patna, on Friday carried out two trap operations in Rohtas district and arrested a circle officer, his private assistant and a clerk while they were allegedly accepting bribes.
In the first operation, Sasaram circle officer Akash Kumar Rogniyar and his private assistant Sonu Kumar were arrested from a private residence in Sasaram’s Beda locality while allegedly accepting Rs 3 lakh as bribe.

According to vigilance DG J S Gangawar, the complaint was lodged by a revenue employee from Dinara, who alleged the circle officer demanded money in land mutation cases. After verification, a trap team led by deputy superintendent of police Pawan Kumar-I caught the two accused red-handed, he said.
In another operation, Satish Kumar, a clerk posted at the civil surgeon office in Sadar Hospital, Sasaram, was arrested while allegedly accepting Rs 20,000 to stop the transfer of a health department employee.
