Royal sparks concerns after mystery injury spotted in new picture
Royal fans were worried after a member of a royal family showed up in a plaster cast. The Swedish royal family shared their annual summer family portrait on social media to wish their fans a happy summer.
The photo was taken this week during the celebrations for Crown Princess Victoria's 49th birthday. The Swedish royal spent the day, as per tradition, on Oland, an island in Sweden, with other members of the Royal Family. Victoria posed with the rest of the Swedish royals, including her parents, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia and her siblings, Prince Carl Philip with his wife Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine with her husband Chris O'Neill, and their children, at Solliden Palace.
Carl Philip's sons, Prince Alexander, 10, Prince Gabriel, 8, and Prince Julian, 5, were all in matching green jackets.
Julian has a blue plaster cast, which raised concerns about his mystery injury.
But according to the director of communications of the Swedish royals, there was no case of concern as Julian had only acquired a "small crack" on his arm.
Margareta Thorgren said, as per Hello! Magazine: "Nothing more than a bit of rough and tumble is to blame.
"Children and play, things that can happen."
On Tuesday, July 14, the birthday celebrations began in the afternoon when the Crown Princess and her family gathered in front of Solliden Palace.
From there, Victoria travelled in a procession to the Borgholm Castle ruins to attend the Victoria Concert.
Since 1979, a Swedish athlete has been honoured on Victoria's birthday.
This year, cross-country skier Frida Karlsson received the Victoria Prize from the Crown Princess.
A total of 21 gun salutes were fired to honour the royal's birthday in Stockholm, Karlskrona, Gothenburg and Härnösand, as well as from a mobile salute battery in Boden.
