Shocking Theft at Jaipur Wedding: Bride’s Bag Containing Jewellery and Rs 4 Lakh Cash Stolen, Caught on Camera
A joyous wedding celebration in Jaipur turned distressing when a man, posing as a guest, allegedly walked away with the bride’s bag containing jewellery and cash worth nearly Rs 4 lakh. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral online.
The theft occurred on February 7 at Chandan One Marriage Garden in the Jagatpura area during the wedding of Naveen Karol.
Theft During Photoshoot
According to police, the bride and groom were on stage for photographs around 10:15 PM when the suspect struck. Dressed neatly in a blazer, he blended effortlessly with other guests, drawing no suspicion.
CCTV footage later revealed him calmly approaching the stage, lifting the bride’s bag within seconds, and concealing it inside his blazer before slipping quietly into the crowd. At the time, family members and guests were focused on the ceremony and photos, unaware of the theft.
Bride Notices Bag Missing
The bride realized the bag was missing only after the photoshoot ended. Along with valuable jewellery, it reportedly contained cash totaling around Rs 4 lakh. Family members searched the venue but came up empty-handed.
Reviewing the video footage confirmed the theft, showing the suspect committing the act with remarkable calmness.
Police Investigation Underway
The groom’s brother, Nitin Karol, filed a formal complaint with the police. Authorities have reportedly identified the accused, and further investigation is underway to trace him.
This incident serves as a cautionary reminder to wedding-goers to keep valuables close, even amid celebrations.
