SI held for taking bribe in Khagaria
A state vigilance department team led by DSP Vindhyachal Prasad arrested a sub-inspector of police (SI) Roshan Kumar, posted at Mansi police station in Khagaria district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 on Tuesday evening. The DSP said one Abhishek alias Golu, a native of Khutia village, had lodged a complaint with the vigilance officials about the theft of the battery of his tractor on Sept 29. The SI demanded Rs 12,000 for the recovery of battery from a thief who had reportedly stolen it. The vigilance officials laid a trap and caught him red handed while accepting the amount, he said.
175 litres of IMFL seized: In a bid to check smuggling of liquor ahead of assembly elections, the static surveillance force (STF) team, led by Khagaria DM Navin Kumar and SP Rakesh Kumar, on Wednesday seized 175 litres of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) during a vehicle checking on the NH-31 under Mufassil police station area in Khagaria district on Wednesday. The liquor was being carried in a SUV.
