A 'frustrating' glitch has been affecting some Sky TV users, with forums flooded with complaints about the ITVX app. The irritating issue, which emerged late last week, skips through programmes without any input from the remote controls. Some have reported that shows they are viewing jump straight to the end credits, whilst others have seen programmes start from the beginning when they are halfway through watching something.

One customer, posting under the name Dazzasky, wrote: "ITVX randomly skips ahead, usually right to the end of the episode. It's making it quite difficult to watch and has been happening for the last four or five days."

Another user, Dawn, reported a similar experience, saying: "Is anyone else having issues watching programmes on ITVX? For the last three days, shows have randomly jumped to the end and then been marked as watched. It usually happens at the beginning of a programme or straight after an ad break."

The issue appears to be affecting customers using Sky's internet-based platforms, including Sky Stream and Sky Glass devices.

A Sky employee, called Kev, has now responded to the complaints and says the firm has released a fix.

"We can understand how frustrating this must be. Thanks for your patience whilst we worked through the problem," Kev said in an update.

"Our Support teams have confirmed that the problem should now be resolved."

Although the gremlins have been mended, it seems some are still having issues, and if you are suffering from ITVX skipping through content, then it seems there's a simple solution. Yes, the old trick of turning things off and on again should mend the problems.

"If you continue to have trouble, you can follow these steps," Kev explained,

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to System Management

3. Press Select

4. Go to Resets and Updates

5. Press Select

6. Go to Restart Device

7. Press Select.

Once a reboot has taken place, TVs and boxes should be back to normal.

Confirming the advice works, one Sky user named Lettuce, said: "It's fixed for me, this afternoon, tried a good handful of progs and films on ITVx.

"As above, make sure you do a settings restart on your Sky Glass TV and Sky Stream puck."
