TN sanctions ₹90 crore for Madurai airport expansion work
Madurai: The Tamil Nadu govt has sanctioned ₹90-crore for waterbody work linked to the expansion of Madurai airport , clearing one of the hurdles holding up the proposed extension of its runway.
The water resources department will take up improvements and diversion of waterbodies, supply channels and related structures in Madurai and Sivaganga districts. A TIDCO letter dated Aug 7 said the govt sanctioned funds on July 15 and WRD was taking further action.
