Tomba terminates Inter Kashi contract over dues, set to join FC Goa
Panaji: Tomba Singh has unilaterally terminated his contract with Inter Kashi FC due to non-payment of dues and is now headed to FC Goa .
Tomba, 22, had a year left on his existing three-year contract with Inter Kashi and was the target of several clubs due to his impressive performances in the top tier Indian Super League (ISL). He remained contracted but after the club defaulted on payments, the midfielder approached the player status committee of the All India Football Federation ( AIFF ) for release.
The AIFF checked his documents, and in accordance with Article 7.1 of the regulations on the status and transfer of players, cleared his path.
Under Article 17 of the AIFF regulations on the status and transfer of players, if the club fails to pay a player at least two monthly salaries on their due dates, the player is deemed to have a just cause to terminate his contract, provided he has informed the defaulting club in writing and has granted a deadline of at least 15 days to fully comply with its financial obligation.
