Two Weeks in August star Jessica Raine has very famous husband who is also on show
BBC viewers are set to be gripped by a new thriller series, Two Weeks In August, which premieres tonight (Saturday 23 May).
Penned and developed by Sally4Ever's Catherine Shepherd, the fresh 'witty and painfully relatable' series boasts a star-studded ensemble and chronicles a group of friends reuniting for a summer getaway. Yet, the seemingly perfect holiday rapidly descends into chaos following an illicit kiss which creates ripples across the entire friendship circle.
Headlining the cast is Call the Midwife star Jessica Raine, who portrayed Nurse Jennifer Lee in the BBC medical drama, as she assumes the role of Zoe. Additional credits for Jessica, 43, include Patrick Melrose and The Devil's Hour.
Yet, Jessica isn't the sole celebrity in her household and the actress is accompanied by her husband on the new BBC series...
Jessica is married to actor Tom Goodman-Hill.
Tom, 57, is best known for playing Philip on Spy from 2011 to 2012, Roger Grove on Mr Selfridge between 2013 to 2016, Joe Hawkins on Humans between 2015 to 2018 and Darrien O'Connor on Netflix hit Baby Reindeer in 2024.
The pair wed in 2015 and in 2019 it was reported that the couple had welcomed their first child together.
Tom Goodman-Hill portrays the enigmatic James on the programme, who is in a relationship with Flick, played by Dolly Wells.
In the programme, the affluent pair own a property on the island as they attempt to befriend Zoe, portrayed by Jessica, and her companions staying at a nearby villa.
During an appearance on The One Show prior to the start of Two Weeks in August, Jessica was questioned about collaborating with her husband.
The actress said: "Yeah, he [Tom] plays James with the amazing Dolly Wells. They're a couple, they're expats on the island and they're quite questionable characters and they invite the group to this party and there's like a lot of Greek mythology in the show and he's a bit of like this Dionysus. He throws this bacchanalian party with a lot of incredible essays. But yeah, he's in it."
She added: "It was very, very funny shooting with him because you know when you know someone so well now, it was very, I couldn't look at him because I would get the giggles. I just couldn't do it."
