Two women killed as speeding car hits scooter

Trichy: Two women were killed when a speeding car hit their two-wheeler on the Trichy-Karaikudi national highway near Keeranur town in Pudukottai district on Wednesday.
Police identified the deceased as C Veerayi , 70, and her daughter-in-law V Santhi , 25, from Vellalapatti village .
The victims visited the Ammachathiram panchayat office on Wednesday afternoon. After registering their job cards to avail MGNREGA work, they were returning home on a scooter. Santhi was riding while Veerayi was in the pillion seat.
