UK EV company plunges into administration - '£2.8bn investment planned'
Dodona Analytics Ltd, a UK-based electric vehicle (EV) software and analytics firm, has officially entered administration, according to a notice published in The Gazette. The company develops data-driven tools to help EV charging operators optimise and scale infrastructure and has previously outlined ambitious plans for a $3.8 billion (£2.8bn) investment in charging networks by 2030.
Founded in 2018 by Dr Stefan Furlan, Dodona Analytics initially focused on tackling complex data challenges across industries such as insurance and healthcare. In 2020, the company pivoted toward the EV sector, co-founded by 'EV evangelist' Chris Chamberlain, releasing the first version of its eMobility platform in the UK in 2021.
The company expanded to the US in 2023, opening an office in New York City and securing Series A funding in 2024 led by Flashpoint Venture Capital and WaVe-X, the venture arm of Walter Group.
In 2024, Dodona Analytics secured Series A funding led by Flashpoint Venture Capital, with participation from WaVe-X, the venture investment arm of Walter Group.
Dodona's platform uses artificial intelligence and over 50 data sources to assist charge point operators in answering three key questions: "Can they deploy?", "Should they invest?", and "Where should they start?"
Despite its rapid growth and high-profile partnerships with companies such as Shell, SSE, and Phillips 66, Dodona Analytics now faces a critical turning point under administration.
Kevin Weir of Small Business Rescue Ltd has been appointed as administrator, according to The Gazette on on February 19, and will now oversee the company's affairs, including assessing options for restructuring or a potential sale of its assets.

Stuart Douglas, Former Managing Director at Pogo Charge previously said: "Dodona gives us lots of detailed information on traffic flows, points of interest, local competition, as well as electricity availability, and a few other points bespoke for our own use... it gives us a really quick and easy, not light and quick, but a very, very quick assessment of the site. We've got hundreds if not thousands of sites that we look at every year."
Dodona positions itself as a complete charge point planning solution, supporting operators from site discovery through acquisition to installation.
Its platform combines location intelligence, traffic flow analysis, competitor assessment and return-on-investment modelling, aiming to help charge point operators scale networks without expanding in-house data science teams. The company said its clients accounted for 21% of new UK charger installations in 2023.
