Urgent Amazon email warning as all UK customers placed on red alert
If you shop on Amazon, now is a good time to remind yourself about the endless scams it attracts. With millions of customers using the platform every single day, it's easy to see why this online store is in the sights of cyber crooks trying to catch people out. Amazon recently warned users about the dangers of attacks from scam emails, calls and text messages, with the company saying: "Big shopping moments attract big crowds, and they're also when staying alert on bad actor activity matters.
With the summer holiday season on its way, hackers will be looking to cash in, and Express.co.uk has already seen a rise in email attacks.
One message that is currently landing in inboxes suggests that unusual activity has been spotted, with customers told their accounts have been suspended.
This is then followed by a link which says will reactivate things."We have detected unusual activity on your account," the email reads.
"For your security, we have temporarily limited access to your account. Please verify your identity to restore full access."
The message features full Amazon branding, and even an address that looks like it could have come from the firm.
However, clicking doesn't direct people to Amazon; instead, it simply takes them to a fake page where account details are then stolen.
