Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra is POWERGRID CMD

Lucknow: Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra has taken over as chairman and managing director of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID). Earlier serving as director (projects), he brings over 33 years of experience in power transmission and telecom.

An engineering graduate with postgraduate qualifications in project management and management, Burra joined POWERGRID in 1993.

He has played a key role in regulatory strategy, competitive bidding, telecom expansion and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

UPPCL online billing services to remain shut for 16 hours

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has informed consumers that its billing system will remain shut for 16 hours due to maintenance and configuration work. The shutdown will be in effect from 10 pm on April 3 to 2pm on April 4, affecting its discoms—PuVVNL, MVVNL, DVVNL, PVVNL and KESCO.

During this period, online services including bill payment, smart meter recharge, bill generation, and load enhancement will be unavailable. Consumers can seek assistance by calling 1912.
