With 18 more candidates, BJP finalises all 101 candidates
Patna : BJP announced 18 more candidates late Wednesday night, completing its list of 101 candidates from its quota.
The third list includes two women candidates. Veena Devi from Kochadhaman and Sangeeta Kumari from Mohania. Satish Kumar Yadav has been nominated from Raghopur while Vinay Bihari has been named from Lauriya.
The BJP has dropped senior MLA CN Gupta from Chhapra and fielded Chhoti Kumari. Suresh Sharma, who was an MLA from Muzaffarpur in 2015 and a minister, and Kusum Devi, the sitting MLA from Gopalganj, have been denied the tickets. BJP has fielded Subhash Singh from Gopalganj.
The 18 BJP candidates include Nand Kishor Ram (Ramnagar), Sanjay Pandey (Narkatiaganj), Ram Singh (Bagaha), Vinay Bihari (Lauriya), Narayan Prasad (Nautan), Umakant Singh (Chanpatia), Krishna Nandan Paswan (Harsidhi), Sachindra Prasad Singh (Kalyanpur), Lalbabu Prasad Gupta (Chiraiya), Bina Devi (Kochadhaman), Binod Yadav (Baisi), Satish Kumar Yadav (Raghopur), Kumar Shailendra (Bihpur), Murari Paswan (Pirpainti), Ashok Kumar Singh (Ramgarh), Sangeeta Kumari (Mohania), Bharat Bind (Bhabhua) and Ranvijay Singh (Goh).
Earlier the party released its second list of 12 candidates on Wednesday and fielded folk singer Maithili Thakur from Alinagar in Darbhanga district and former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar.
The party dropped Gyanendra Singh Gyanoo from Barh and named Siyaram Singh.
Maithili has become the youngest candidate in this election. She turned 25 in July.
The other nine BJP candidates announced on Wednesday included Ramchandra Prasad (Hayaghat), Ranjan Kumar (Muzaffarpur), Subhash Singh (Gopalganj), Kedar Nath Singh (Baniyapur), Chhoti Kumari (Chhapra), Vinay Kumar Singh (Sonepur), Birendra Kumar (Rosera), Mahesh Paswan (Agiaon), and Rakesh Ojha (Shahpur).
BJP had released a list of 71 candidates on Tuesday.
