Woman accuses Rajasthan man of blackmail, stalking & extortion using photos

Noida: A woman has accused a man from Jodhpur in Rajasthan of stalking, harassment and blackmail. The complainant, a resident of Sector 45, said the man was harassing her on various digital platforms, including WhatsApp, SMS, phone calls and social media.

According to the FIR registered on Oct 14, the accused allegedly deceived the woman by promising marriage and subsequently tried to extort money and blackmail her using private messages and images.

In her statement, the complainant alleged that the accused not only targeted her but also issued threats to harm her family members and associates. "He threatened to defame me publicly and harm my family if I did not comply with his demands," she stated in her written complaint. When she tried to protest, the accused allegedly threatened to throw acid on her.

Police said the accused allegedly sent abusive, obscene and threatening messages to the victim and her family. Police said he intended to disrupt her alliance with her fiancé, causing them severe mental distress.

Sector 39 police have registered a case under Section 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and initiated an investigation to trace digital communication and verify evidence.

Police sources said the investigation would focus on digital forensic analysis, including recovery of deleted data and IP address tracing. "We are examining all technical aspects and communications between the parties," a senior officer said.
