Gurugram Horror: Man Allegedly Burns Girlfriend Alive After She Discovers He Is Married

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly setting his girlfriend on fire after she discovered that he was already married. The accused, identified as Sunil Kumar, was taken into custody by Gurugram police and has been remanded to two days of police custody as the investigation continues.

According to police, the incident came to light on June 19 when a 23-year-old woman, Divya Kataria from Basai village, was admitted to Artemis Hospital with critical burn injuries. She was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment.

Initially, both the victim and her mother declined to file a police complaint. However, Kataria succumbed to her injuries on June 27. Following her death, her cousin filed a complaint at the Sector-9A police station on June 30.
