Woman Reverses Car For Reel, Dies After Falling Into 300-Ft Valley In Sambhaji Nagar
In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life after reversing her car off a cliff, plunging 300 feet into a gorge in Maharashtra. The harrowing accident was recorded on video by her friend , who was filming her as she learned to drive.
The video shows 23-year-old Shweta Deepak Surwase in the driver’s seat, while her friend Suraj Sanjau Mule, 25, captures the moment on his phone. The pair had traveled from Aurangabad to Sulibhanjan Hills on a Monday afternoon.
Around 2 pm, Ms. Surwase started the car and began to reverse slowly, as seen in the footage. At this point, the car was still about 50 meters away from the edge. However, as she continued to back up, the car's speed increased, prompting her friend to shout warnings. "Clutch, clutch, clutch," he exclaimed as the car's engine roared. Mule ran towards the vehicle in an attempt to stop it, but tragically, the car plunged into the gorge, leading to Ms. Surwase’s death .
Eyewitnesses reported that the car tumbled down the 300-foot cliff, eventually landing in the gorge below. Subsequent visuals showed the wreckage of the vehicle lying mangled in the ravine.
The two friends had been visiting the Dattatreya temple in Sulibhanjan. The Sulibhanjan Hills, known for their scenic beauty, attract numerous tourists, especially during the monsoon season.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of caution while learning to drive, especially in hazardous locations.
